Honey Hot Fried Shrimp

For the sauce

  • In a small saucepan melt the butter over medium low heat.
  • Add the hot sauce, honey and sesame oil.
  • Bring to a simmer and let simmer until thickened.
  • Reduce heat to low and keep warm until ready to use.

For the dry batter

  • In a large bowl combine the flour, Old Bay, seasoning salt and pepper.

For the wet dip

  • In another bowl beat the eggs with a tablespoon of water.

For the shrimp

  • Heat 3" oil in a Dutch oven or deep fryer to 350 F.
  • Dredge the shrimp in the flour.
  • Shake off excess and dip in the egg mixture.
  • Shake off excess and coat in flour again.
  • Fry 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
  • Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate or wire rack to drain.
  • Place shrimp into a large bowl.
  • Drizzle with the sauce.
  • Toss gently to coat.
  • Serve shrimp garnished with parsley.
