I like my burgers griddled. But sometimes, that just isn’t an option. Time for Plan B, and this time Plan B was to make a copycat recipe of the famous sliders from White Castle. Copycat recipe White Castle burgers are rather addicting. Even though you know you should stop eating them at some point, you just can’t. They’re about as easy to make as you can possibly get, and just as easy to devour.
Are these fancy fru-fru burgers? Heck, if you gotta ask you don’t know White Castle burgers!

Messing With Perfection
It’s possible that I often double the cheese on my copycat recipe for White Castle burgers. It’s also possible that I sometimes add a bit of BBQ sauce. Beyond that, White Castle sliders should not be messed with.
Pepper jack cheese is great on these. Along with a few slices of hot spicy jalapenos. You know, that pickled stuff in the jar. They aren’t crazy hot, despite saying ‘hot’ on the bottle. Sure, they’ll wake you up but you (probably) won’t fall to your knees in pain after that first bite!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Ok, this is a weird departure for me, but for some reason this story came to me. I moved to Indy in the late 90s from the Washington DC area. I was used to everything being open 24-7, no matter the day of the year. So my first Thanksgiving here, when I was living in an unfurnished apartment with no cooking utensils, I headed out to find a good meal. And I found nothing open. Anywhere. I am pretty sure I drove everywhere. Back then, nothing was open on Thanksgiving. Except White Castle! Yep, you better believe it, I had Thanksgiving at White Castle! A box of burgers and all was right in the world.
That Thanksgiving, White Castle saved the day!
