Popcorn is a favorite snack in our house. It even finds its way to our lunch table as a side, replacing chips or pretzels. It doesn’t have to be fancy popcorn, either. Just good ‘n tasty. Crunchy. Sometimes plain. Sometimes buttered. And often, tossed in this delicious nacho cheese popcorn seasoning. My goodness, is this stuff ever good. This is the kind of popcorn deliciousness that does not help me with my popped kernel addiction!
Go Light. Ok, Just Kidding. Go Heavy.
You can ‘dust’ your popcorn with this delicious nacho cheese popcorn seasoning. You know. ‘Show it’ some flavor. Or you can get serious and really load up. Either way, this is great stuff with lots of flavor. Not some weird cheese thing. But flavor. The perfect combination of spices. So whether you’re serving plain popcorn or buttered, you’ll want to toss it this treat first!
More maximum cheddar cheese flavor, and the required orange fingers that come with it, I use cheese powder. This stuff is dangerous. That’s why it comes in a big container. At first you think, “Whoa, no way can I ever use this all up!”. Then two weeks later you think, “I need to add cheddar cheese powder to my grocery list again.”. That’s how it happens. I know. I’ve been there.
The cheese powder is also great to amp up the cheese flavor on Goldfish crackers. Or to add a little cheesiness to plain old potato chips. Just follow my recipe for quick fix Ranch potato chips and substitute the cheese powder for the Ranch seasoning.

Of course, you can also pick up a bottle (or three) of the premade stuff at your grocery store. I like the ability to change my seasoning up according to my tastes at the time. Sometimes I like a little more kick. Other times, I like a little less. Or none at all!

- ¼ cup cheddar cheese powder see note
- ½ teaspoon chili powder
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- ¼ teaspoon chipotle chili powder
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon onion powder
- 1 pinch kosher salt
Instructions
- Mix all ingredients together.
- To use, sprinkle or spoon over hot popped popcorn and stir or toss.
