These caramel crunchy Cheetos were such a big hit at my wife’s office that I decided to post the recipe today. I didn’t want to wait another minute before sharing these treats online. I have to admit, they are highly addicting. They’re like candied Cheetos. Great crunch and sweetness, similar to caramel popcorn in ways. I made these little treats with Crunchy Cheetos, but I wouldn’t hesitate to make them with Cheddar Jalapeno Crunchy Cheetos to get a nice mix of heat and sweet.

Make A Whole Lot Extra
Don’t hesitate to make these caramel crunchy Cheetos. And make extra. I’ve made them for my wife’s co-workers many times and they’ve always disappeared in no time at all. They are decadent, tasty, and crunchy. Everything you could dream of.
Can I Add Stuff?
Yes. Yes you can add other little treats to this treat. But I wouldn’t go nuts with it. Well, ok, nuts are a good idea actually. Roasted peanuts or chopped pecans or cashews would be great. I would add them in with the Cheetos right before you add the caramel mixture. Make sure you stir them in well. Once you start stirring they will want to head to the bottom of the bowl. You want to stir them up from down there and get them evenly distributed.
Popped popcorn works well in this mix too. But don’t add too much. At least not without maybe doubling the caramel mixture. We aren’t making caramel popcorn balls here but you’ll need more to help those porous kernels get well-coated.
Last but not least, corn chips are a great addition too. Not normal potato chips, those will crumble apart as you stir. Corn chips can take it. So add a handful or two.
It might sound crazy, but Cheetos are the bomb on hot dogs too!

Caramel Cheetos
Equipment
Ingredients
- 2 cups light brown sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- ½ cup light corn syrup
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- 20.5 ounce Crunchy Cheetos
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 250 F.
- Spray a large bowl, a large sauce pan, and a deep baking dish with non-stick spray. You may also want to spray your utensils as you go since these are quite sticky!
- Add the brown sugar, butter and corn syrup to the sauce pan over medium high heat. Bring to a boil and let boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the baking soda. The mixture will become light in color and will be somewhat foamy.
- Pour the Cheetos into the large bowl. Pour the caramel mixture over the top. Stir the Cheetos to coat. You don’t have to worry about getting every one fully coated as they will get tossed more in the oven.
- Pour Cheetos mixture into the baking dish and place into the oven.
- Bake at 250 for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
- Remove from oven and pour onto wax paper. Allow to cool.
