Creole Beef Debris Po Boy

This Creole beef debris po boy came out absolutely outstandingly good. The meat is fall-apart tender with a deep beefy flavor that is boosted by a simple roux. The beef takes a while to cook, but it is oh so worth it, and as an added bonus, your house will smell terrific while it is cooking!

Creole Beef Debris Po Boy

Pot Roast On A Bun

This is the perfect cold-weather recipe. You’re rewarded in the end with the best sandwich meat you can find. Yeah, you could eat it more like a pot roast, but for me, the real winner is a po boy. I just cannot get enough of that great flavor and the delicious juice-soaked bread. It makes for a messy sandwich, and messy is always good!

I served the Creole beef debris po boy on toasted bread, topped with Chez John’s Kaw-Cajun Comeback sauce. It was a dripping, messy, fantastic sandwich. Remember my rule: the messier, the better and this sandwich is absolutely perfect. Like my Drunken Cajun chicken po boy.

Also try my cube steak po boy. It’s a bit different but a whole lot of delicious! And so is my Oh Boy Po Boy!

Hamburger Po Boy

This hamburger po boy is one of my favorite things to eat.  It’s a little on the messy side, which is always a good thing. I think sandwiches are meant to be messy. And they have to drip down yummy drippings that you can sop up with your bread, or better, fries.

Hamburger Po Boy

Crank It Up!

You can make this hamburger po boy a little more like a real po’boy by slathering the buns with some Kaw-Cajun Comeback sauce from Chez John. That stuff is like gold. It has a nice kick and it makes any sandwich amazing!

I almost always use Blue Plate mayonnaise in the dishes I make. I think it is the best around. If you can’t find it locally you can pick it up online for a fair price.

Cheater Crispy Chicken Po Boy

Whenever I make a big batch of Chez John’s Kaw-Cajun Comeback sauce, I go into po boy mode. I love a good po boy. But, sometimes I am in a bit of a rush, so I just warm up some pre-cooked crispy chicken tenders, add a few more ingredients, and before you know it I’m enjoying a great cheater crispy chicken po boy!

Cheater Crispy Chicken Po Boy

It’s Crazy Easy And Crazy Good

So, why’s this great sandwich a “cheater”? Well, because I used pre-cooked chicken. A real po boy would’ve been cooked on the fly. I didn’t have the time for that. So I made a cheater crispy chicken po boy instead.

Also try my cheater chicken Parmesan sliders.

Drunken Cajun Chicken Po Boy

A place called Gumbo A Go-Go opened recently here in Indy (and sadly they’ve now closed!) . I’ve eaten there several times and have become totally addicted to their Datwich, a spicy shredded chicken sandwich. This is my first attempt at trying to match it. I’d say that this Drunken Cajun chicken po boy comes mighty darn close to the real thing. And I definitely ended up with a delicious sandwich!

Drunken Cajun Chicken Po Boy

Almost A Datwich

I will try again to duplicate the Datwich. I think I’m very close. Next time I’ll omit the tomatoes, add some broth, and more garlic! Until then I’m going to chow down on this spicy good Drunken Cajun chicken po boy sandwich! This is a mighty good sandwich on its own. It’s messy. Very messy. The chicken is very tender and some of the best flavored chicken I’ve had. It might not be a Datwich, but it’s great no matter what!

Also try my Creole beef debris po boy.

Cheater Popcorn Shrimp Po Boy

Boy, these were good! If you follow this blog at all, you know that I’m a big fan (and user) of Kaw-Cajun Comeback sauce from Chez John. I made another big batch last week, and you know what that means! Po boys! For starters, I made this Cheater popcorn shrimp po boy. I didn’t have the time to deep fry shrimp from scratch so I “cheated” and used frozen pre-cooked shrimp.

Cheater Popcorn Shrimp Po Boy

Nothing Fancy Here. Just Good.

These cheater popcorn shrimp po boy sandwiches have a great shrimp taste (with a little crunch). The Comeback sauce adds a wonderful kick. Lettuce and tomato and a nice freshness.

Roasted Black Pepper Shrimp Po boy

I’ve never eaten a bad po boy, and this one is no exception. Roasted black pepper shrimp, Kaw-Cajun Comeback sauce… you just can’t go wrong! The shrimp are perfectly peppered. The Comeback sauce… man, what can’t I say about it… it’s just so great. It is spicy, creamy, and without a doubt the perfect sauce for any sandwich you will ever make. I can’t imagine a po boy without Kaw-Cajun Comeback sauce on it. Don’t be shy with it, either. The sign of a great po boy is one that drips all over the plate, your shirt, and down your arms. This roasted black pepper shrimp po boy checks all the ‘great sandwich’ checkboxes.

Roasted Black Pepper Shrimp Po boy

One Great Po Boy Sauce

I recommend keeping a bottle of Comeback sauce nearby when you eat this roasted black pepper shrimp po boy. Just in case a shrimp falls of the sandwich. Sure, you could poke it back in, but you can also squeeze a bit of Comeback sauce on it and enjoy the perfect shrimp.

Grilled Smoked Sausage Po Boy

This grilled smoked sausage po boy is one of those perfect po boys. The kind that drip yummy sauces down onto your plate. The kind with yummy sauces you slop up with the last bites of the bread. Heck, if no one’s looking, pick up the plate and lick up the drippings. No one will know except you and you’ll be the one smiling.

Everything about this sandwich is delicious, but the really great part is the Kaw-Cajun Comeback sauce. It has a nice spicy kick, and is great on absolutely every sandwich you could ever make. I make a big batch of Kaw-Cajun Comeback sauce and keep it on hand for great po boys. Chez John from Fat Johnny’s Front Porch is the creator of the sauce. Pay his site a visit. He makes amazing food.

Grilled Smoked Sausage Po Boy

This grilled smoked sausage po boy is good eats, I tell ya! It’s messy. It’s crunchy. And it’s packed with flavors, from sausage to slaw to a wonderfully spicy sauce. There’s nothing fancy going on here. There doesn’t have to be.
